the basic idea:

the cast iron metal sewing machine is hard. durable. 
designed to make or fix things.

glass is fragile. beautiful. easily broken.

break everything and put it back together in a different form.

my hope is that the strength and fragility will somehow come together and become something interesting to look at from every angle.

i am small and everything sparkles

last night i had a dream where i woke up on a tree branch outside my bedroom window. i had become very small and it was night time. i laid there for a minute, totally in awe. all the twisted branches were snow covered, glittering with white sparkles and hurting my eyes. too bright but so beautiful. then i felt cold and wet. i was covered also covered in snow, so i went inside and back to sleep.

thinking about it later, maybe i felt i was literally out on a limb somehow. i knew i wasn't scared but i didn't want to stay there either.
